I have worked with several realtors before and working with Julie was a completely different experience. While most realtors had treated me like a transaction and came across as a commoditized product, Julie took a very different approach. Julie truly listens, is super responsive and saw things through until the end. Julie is the kind of real estate professional that other real estate professionals should strive to be like.
Julie was an invaluable resource helping me with both the purchase of my new home and the sale of my previous home. Both transactions were somewhat complex with multiple offers and unique conditions. Julie’s expertise and hard work helped get both closed quickly at what I consider to be strong values. I work in finance in a position where I am often unavailable for long stretches of time, which can be difficult with the time required when closing two property transactions in a short time frame. Julie exemplified the notion of “going the extra mile” to make sure things got done on schedule.
The icing on the cake, which I was not even aware of when I chose to work with Julie, is that she contributes a generous portion of her commission to a charity of her clients’ choosing. This helped amplify efforts related to a group I work with that I believe does amazing work. All things being equal I would choose a realtor who did this for that reason alone. Julie did this in addition to providing better service than I received during prior real estate transactions. The whole experience is a different/better model for how real estate agents can be. Officially closed on our first home! We’re so happy we had Julie Horrigan in our corner- without exaggeration, the best real estate agent ever, here’s why:
In the heart of a frenzied market, where supply of homes and days on market were at record lows, we made a list of insane demands: 4 BR, huge yard, 2-car garage, at the end of cul-de-sac, bordered by forest, within 5 miles of the highway AND commuter rail, along the SW 495 corridor. Also, a turnkey property, please (only peasants remodel).
Julie gave us a very accurate (and sobering) rundown of the current market, and we started adjusting expectations. She said “Don’t do that- I just want you to be educated and informed buyers. If you can be patient, we WILL find you that house.” Her tone was somewhere between reassurance and solemn vow.
And she was right- we didn’t compromise on a single thing, stayed under-budget, and found our amazing new home! She really made it her mission, and we wouldn’t be there without all her help. She knows all the answers and fights all the battles so you don’t have to, and held our hands and had our back from start to finish.
